”A lot of the time you will find that people in bands know people in bands….if you get what I mean!? Your band-mate may know this ‘great singer’ who would be perfect for your band. Before you make any rash decisions on the back of a suggestion or recommendation, just remember for a second that this is your band were talking about here and any new band member will not only need to be up to the same standard as the rest of you, but will also have to be both reliable and hard working as well.“

need help starting a band?

26 09 2008

If your looking for help with starting a band, head over to the MusicalAds website, where we have written an article with some advice you may find useful. There is a small excerpt of the article below, however you can read the article on starting a band in it’s entirety by visiting www.musicalads.co.uk

”Many musicians and music tutors will say that playing in a band and practicing regularly with other musicians, regardless of their skill level or ability is one of the best ways of developing your own musical skills. You will learn so much about timing, song structures, training your ears etc… And most of all you’ll more than likely have a blast doing it! But like every band, be it Iron Maiden, or that band that plays in the local pub every 3rd Friday of each month… they all had to start somewhere, and starting off can be a daunting task for many. It doesn’t matter how good you are at playing your instrument, how amazing your ideas are or how passionate you are about your Music, there are always going to be a few stumbling blocks on your road to success.“

advice on buying a musical instrument

24 09 2008

Don’t always assume that new instruments are always going to be better than buying second hand. Sometimes a second hand instrument will have been professionally setup, whereas a new instrument may come in flawless conditionstraight from the factory but in need of a professional setup. Whilst it is possible to purchase a really good second hand instrument, be careful. If the price seems very low, ask the seller questions about its condition, history etc. It’s all too easy to get excited when you discover a second hand drum kit selling for £100, then to find out the bass drum is split and it will cost more to fix than the price of the kit itself!

This is a small excerpt of an article on taken from the MusicalAds website, offering advice to anyone looking to purchase a second hand musical instrument. You can view the article on buying a second hand musical instrument in full at www.musicalads.co.uk
