the perils of home recording!

Check out this video I stumbled across recently. I was searching for the Metallica song ‘Nothing Else Matters’ when I came across this video. It’s an acoustic version of the song recorded by a young guy in his bedroom.This is just for fun, and for obvious reasons this isnt the video of the week.

At first you may think ‘oh this is just some dude playing guitar in his bedroom…so what?’…. and about 15 seconds in you’ll probably be thinking ‘get on with it already!’ as the guy starts frantically clicking each and every finger before he even begins to play! Bear with this clip though as it gets much better!

His playing is pretty good, but that’s not the reason why I think you should watch this video to the end. If you get to about 55 seconds in, you will see the perfect example of ‘the perils oh home recording’. I’m not gonna tell you what happens, but his reaction is absolutely priceless.

Check out this video showing a fantastic example of how to impress a girl with your musical skills. It’s currently being used by wightbay.com (a classified website on the Isle of Wight) to promote their new online dating service. Although i’m not sure if she’s impressed by the end of this or simply bemused, so maybe it’s perhaps not such a good idea to try to use lyrics like those contained in this song!

Perhaps it’s best to just watch and make your own mind up on this one but don’t blame me if you get a crazy idea to write your Mrs. a love song and it all goes wrong! Check it out…

our fantasy guitar hero setlist

With all the talk of Guitar Hero; Aerosmith, possibly a Metallica version of the game and their ‘downloadable content’ deal to tie in with their new album, we though we’d compile our own fantasy set list based on what we would like to see.

Our fantasy musicalads set list features a lot of school bands, a few from the 80’s thrash era plus a few old school classics and modern day hits. It’s just for fun so don’t read to much into it, but please feel free to suggest any songs you’d like to see included future versions of the game or even your own fantasy set list!
